What was the highlight of Atami Korakuen Hotel

Had a comfortable stay.

We were given a complimentary pass to Ocean Fuua Spa (Onsen) for our stay in the hotel. The rooms with ocean view also come with great sunrise view (see our sunrise photos taken from the room’s balcony at around 6:30am). Buffet breakfast comes with lots of food choices to meet different dietary needs.

The hotel’s own public bath facilities is rather old and not as fantastic as Ocean Fuua Spa but still sufficient for a good bath.

What was the highlight of Atami Korakuen Hotel

Excellent high rise hotel with nice Onsen looking over the Atami harbour.

High rise hotel, although we stayed at the Annex with a different onsen (amazing view looking out on the Atami harbour). Well organized. Staff very nice (although most staff speak very little English). Room is large, everything supplied. We chose all inclusive (onsen, breakfast and dinner). Therefore just relax. Day trips into the city which is short 10 min walk to most places, except the plum garden or MOA which will be a short taxi ride. We rented a car, which in retrospect was unnecessary unless you venture deeper into the Peninsula, or drive to Hakone etc. We stayed several nights in January spanning weekdays and weekend, and the weekdays are less busy therefore for a few minutes the onsen was empty and you are by yourself. Weekend days are much busier. Sat or Sun at 11 am there is Geisha dance performance show at a nearby place which cost 2,500 yen (40 min) very worthwhile if you have not seen this before.

Both breakfast and dinner are buffet. Very little variation, therefore we were bored of the food after the second night. I had expected more customized meal experience (as we have stayed in various other Onsens previously). If it was not for the food experience which can be improved, I would rate this hotel a 9.5.

Very good value. The SPA facilities were great. Nice view, friendly staff.

The staff were very keen to help but very limited English. There weren’t many English signages for instructions so it was confusing what to do in the SPA or restaurant. The TV didn’t have iPhone casting function.

Would like to visit the spa again.

Aqua Square is fairly modern and the attached Fuua Spa (rest area) is excellent with free entrance for hotel guests. Spacious rooms. Good breakfast. Lounge wear provided in rooms that can be worn within hotel premises.

The onsen in the Tower building could do with a refurbishment. The cold pool in the men's Fuua onsen was not cold enough and the sauna was not hot enough (I'm generally used to loyly saunas). Getting to Korakuen can be a little difficult if the free shuttle bus from JR Atami has stopped for the day.

Enjoyable.

Staff hospitality is great. Most of them do not speak English but tried hard to communicate. The room rate includes the use of the spa Fuua. Make sure to make time to go. Excellent facility to enjoy. They provide shuttle bus to and from the train station. Also offer luggage storage.

The room rate includes dinner and breakfast. It's buffet style. Not many good choices for dinner. Just ok. Breakfast is pretty good.

A comfortable family hotel with new, clean, spacious rooms.

New, clean spacious room with sea view. Washing machine available; big property, 2 big onsens. Walkable to city (we did in good weather, around 20-25mins). Breakfast: good variety, average quality.

Not many recreational facilities. E.g. no swimming pool, tennis court even tho property is huge. Can see the ocean from lobby & room but there is no beach. No supper options except room service which is extremely limited & very average in quality (served in plastic disposables).

Mr. Takei from the Loyly Sauna Camp was very interesting and it was a fun experience.

The staff was very friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable.

The hallway leading to the main tower building is long and cold.

My room at the Aqua Square building is just excellent, it’s very new & clean. Staff members are very willing to help guests. The complimentary use of the Ocean Spa is another bonus which made my stay very enjoyable

Great location, meals and hotel facilities.

Great location facing the Atami harbour. The buffet dinner and breakfast were exceptional and offered a great variety of Japanese cuisine. The onsen facilities were massive and provided ample space for meditation. All in all, a great hotel for a staycation.

It was just a high class beautiful place to stay!

We really enjoyed the fabulous breakfast with so many choices! And sitting by the window with a view! Also, the onsen was really great daytime & night!

It would have been nice if the onsen hours extended a little later.

Great relaxation spot in lovely Atami

I chose Atami as one of the relaxing spots on my busy travel route and Korakuen's offer of Ocean Spa Fuua was what attracted me to this hotel. On the spot is came out that the facility had so much to offer that I could have spent my entire Atami stay inside its premises. The Ocean Spa Fuua was a great joy with its diverse baths and the chill zone - well designed, beautiful and immaculately maintained. I appreciated the amenities in the room and the spa itself, hotel dress included. The shops were an unexpectedly nice addition. The buffet dinner and breakfast was more than I expected, with abundant choice of good quality foods. As I arrived late afternoon I had this dilemma where to spend my evening - in the Fuua spa or at a dinner table ;-) Hotel's location, with a shuttle from/to railway station, just at the foot of the ropeway hill and next to the quaint fishing port, was just perfect. Overall, I very much enjoyed my stay at Korakuen and it would be my pick if ever my route brings me to Atami again. There is so much to explore about Korakuen :-)

Very minuscle thing - I wish the terrace next to the dining area was open to have breakfasts there.

Would stay again for access to the "Fuua" spa complex.

There is a spa called "Fuua" in an adjacent hotel building where I got free access due to staying at the hotel. This is the most awesome onsen I have been to so far in Japan, would stay again just for this reason. Even though the hotel is a bit far from Atami station there are frequent shuttle buses going!

Nothing really comes to mind.
